As an adult, I have found many great curly hair products that I could’ve used as a young girl to transform my lack-luster hair into healthy ringlets. Maybe then, I would have learned at an earlier age to love my hair a little more…oh, the benefits of 20/20 hindsight.

Olaplex’s No. 3 Hair Perfector is one of those products that I discovered later in life, and that helped my damaged hair recover. My hair always feels less brittle and stronger after a session of Olaplex. Nothing brings my curls back from the dead (teary-eyed emoji) more than this product.

Olaplex suggests slathering the cream on unwashed, towel-dried hair. I leave the scent-less cream on my damp hair for 10 minutes. Keep in mind, this cream is NOT a conditioner, I repeat NOT a conditioner. It’s a weekly treatment for tired hair that needs a pick-me-up. (I’ve heard their salon version is much stronger).

Once the 10 minutes are up, I jump in the shower and let the water stream through my hair. Sometimes I mix a little of the treatment with my styling cream for some extra TLC… I promise it won’t leave your hair oily :).

I’m hoping to try some of their other products too:

1.) No.4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo

Repairs hair bonds and increases hair’s manageability.

2.) No. 5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner

Hydrates to help rid of frizzy strands that prevent hair from being shiny and healthy.

3.) No. 7 Bonding Oil

This weightless styling oil is intended to “increase shine, softness, and color vibrancy.” I’m not usually into oils (hello, thin hair!), but I might just try this one out.

Olaplex’s No. 3 Hair Perfector ($28.00/ 3.3 fl. oz.) is paraben-free, sulfate-free, phthalate-free, cruelty-free, and vegan. Check out their online store
